A fundraiser has been launched to help an Alexandria Police Department officer and his family recover from a recent tragedy.

Officer Douglass Servern and his fiancée, Felicia, were expecting twins, but she was involved in a serious vehicle crash and both children were born prematurely and died shortly thereafter.

The Alexandria Chapter of the Virginia Police Benevolent Association and the Police Benevolent Foundation launched a fundraiser for the couple.

“This loss is unimaginable, and our hearts go out to them and their loved ones during this incredibly difficult time,” both organizations said on the fundraiser page. “In light of this tragedy, the chapter and the PBF are asking for support in assisting Douglass and Felicia’s family with hospital and funeral expenses.”

All of the proceeds will go toward the couple.
