Arrest made after man shot in broad daylight in Arlandria on Sunday

A 21-year-old man is being held without bond after allegedly shooting a man in the city’s Arlandria neighborhood on Sunday afternoon (May 19).

A man was shot in the left knee in the 3800 block of Executive Avenue at around 12:50 p.m., according to the Alexandria Police Department scanner. The victim and witnesses told police that the suspect lives nearby and fled into his apartment.

Jason Allen Johnson, Jr. was arrested in his apartment, after APD shut down Executive Avenue for two hours and surrounded the building.

Johnson goes to court June 10 for malicious wounding, his first alleged use of a firearm in commission of a felony and carrying a concealed weapon.
