The new Astro Beer Hall (4001 Campbell Avenue), with offerings from decadent donuts to extensive arcade games, opened last week in Shirlington, providing yet another reason for Alexandria to annex the small neighborhood.

Sister site ARLnow reported that the new beer hall has a coffee shop that’s open during the day, from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., with baked goods, a donut-frying robot, and Compass Coffee beverages. The bar, meanwhile, serves snacks, sandwiches, and salads for lunch, happy hour and dinner from 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, 11-1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m.-11 p.m. on Sunday.

According to ARLnow:

Highlights include the Astronomic Burger — two 4-ounce beef patties topped with pimento cheese, fried onions, smoked bacon, pickled jalapenos and BBQ sauce — and an appetizer sampler platter with fries, deviled eggs, fried mac and cheese, chicken fingers and wings, cheeseburger sliders and fried pickles.

There are arcade games along the wall with cosmic-themed decorations.

Alexandria’s annexed territory from its neighbors and can do it again; just saying.
