Among the several stops around the region during a whirlwind tour of D.C., Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the National Science Foundation in Alexandria.

WTOP reported that on Wednesday, first lady Jill Biden and Modi the National Science Foundation for an event highlighting workforce training programs. At the event, Modi said India has placed an emphasis on tech education and training.

Modi has toured various locations around the region over the last few days and the visit has a certain geopolitical significance — though it has also come under fire from some given Modi’s history of oppressing Muslim Indians and cracking down on journalism.
