The Alexandria Police Department is responding to a bank robbery at the Burke & Herbert Bank (100 S Fairfax Street) in Old Town.
Scanner traffic indicates a woman entered the bank with a puffy jacket and a mask covering her face and handed a note to a clerk just before 10 a.m.
Alexandria Police spokesman Marcel Bassett said no arrest has been made yet and the robber left with an undisclosed amount of cash.
As of 11:15 a.m., the bank was reopened.
