Notes: Alexandria ranks high in ‘Best Cities’ list but hindered by housing and public safety scores

Online city ranking platform Niche put Alexandria as the 20th best city in the United States to live in.

The site sets Alexandria just above Boulder, Colorado and just below Raleigh, North Carolina.

The report card ranks Alexandria highly in areas like “good for families”, nightlife and diversity, but that ranking is weighed down by Cs in housing, cost of living and crime.

According to the site:

Living in Alexandria offers residents an urban feel and most residents rent their homes. In Alexandria there are a lot of restaurants, coffee shops, and parks. Many families and young professionals live in Alexandria. The public schools in Alexandria are above average.
