An Alexandrian pointed out on Twitter something that was news to many in the area: any adult with an Alexandria library card can check out a Virginia State Park Pass.

According to the library website, any adult with a library card can visit the Beatley Central Library (5005 Duke Street) to check out a park pass if one is available. Passes can also be placed on hold and transferred to other branches.

The pass can be borrowed for seven days and renewed once. The pass can be returned to any Alexandria library.

The pass includes a vehicle park pass and a sticker to the Virginia State Park website.
