An arrest after a carjacking in Hybla Valley led to questions about the suspect, after another recent arrest, wasn’t already behind bars.
This weekend, an 81-year-old woman was carjacked at a Shoppers in Hybla Valley. According to a release from the Fairfax County Police Department, Maryland resident Terrell Hardy, 34, was found with the help of a K-9 unit and the Fairfax County helicopter after the vehicle was wrecked nearby.
Hardy was charged with carjacking and two counts of hit and run, but FOX 5 reported that Hardy has already been arrested last month in connection to another series of crimes.
“Three weeks ago, Hardy was one of two men arrested in connection with a string of convenience store burglaries, was charged with grand larceny, destruction of property and simple assault,” FOX 5’s Stephanie Ramirez reported.
FOX 5 reported that those charges were listed as misdemeanors and non-violent felonies. Hardy was also previously found guilty of larceny in 2021 and has two assault arrests that were never prosecuted.
