Police Investigating ‘Shots Fired’ Report in West End

Alexandria Police are investigating a report of gunfire in the West End.

Police tweeted on Monday that they were investigating an incident in the area of West Braddock Road and North Van Dorn Street.

Police spokesman Lt. Courtney Ballantine told ALXnow that police are investigating a single shot fired, and are still determining if it was a gunshot.

There have been numerous calls for shots fired in the city over the course of the last month. The incident occurred about a mile-and-a-half from a residential community where the city’s first murder was committed last month. The intersection is near Interstate 395 and about a quarter mile away from Seminary Road.
