This weekend marks the return of one Alexandria neighborhood’s very special, long running local tradition: the Warwick Village Luminaria.
The Luminaria is celebrated with thousands of paper lanterns lining the streets of the neighborhood. The event is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 14, beginning at sunset (approximately 5 p.m.).
A new roundabout in Alexandria’s Warwick Village neighborhood has resulted in a surge of near-miss complaints.
The Alexandria chapter of NoVA Families for Safe Streets saw a surge of reports in its crowd-sourced Near Miss and Dangerous Locations Reporting and Dashboard. The dashboard is intended to identify roadways with high risks for pedestrians.
The mini-roundabout at the intersection of Kennedy and Hickory Streets in the Warwick Village neighborhood will be getting some artistic beautification soon.
At the same Arts Commission meeting where designs for the next Waterfront Park project debuted, the city showed off new designs for the Warwick Village intersection by art team Chalk Riot.
Warwick Village, a neighborhood at the northern end of Del Ray, is bringing back the Warwick Village Mega Yard Sale next month.
The sale is set to return on Saturday, April 13, from 8 a.m. to noon across the neighborhood’s 12 streets.
