Breakfast cafe Stomping Ground now has a southern cuisine-focused dinner menu twice a week.

The local favorite tested the waters with an evening menu at its Tysons Galleria location, but dinner is now available at the original location at 2309 Mount Vernon Avenue in Del Ray. Stomping Ground is open for dinner on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 5:30-9:30 p.m.

Pacers Running is looking to downsize its flagship store at 1301 King Street within the next year.

The store was the regional specialty running retailer’s first and in 2010 the business actually expanded into building next door. With advances in technology, however, Pacers CEO Kathy Dalby says the store has more space than it needs.

Suit Filed Over Chicken Slaughterhouse — “The drama over the halal poultry butcher shop coming to Alexandria did not end when city council approved the business’ special use permit on March 26… About a month after the SUP approval, 10 businesses and residents filed a lawsuit against the City of Alexandria and the Alexandria City Council over the decision.” [Alexandria Times]

FBI Releases 2018 Crime Stats — “In Alexandria, violent crime fell from 262 to 260. That includes four murders and nonnegligent manslaughters, down from six in the previous year. Alexandria had 2,482 property crimes total in 2018, the same number reported in 2017.” [Patch]
