Looking for a companion? On Saturday (May 14), the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria is opening its doors for its annual Spring Fling adoption event.

The adoption event allows folks to name their own adoption fee for the AWLA’s adoptable cats, dogs and small animals in their care.

White and brown American rabbit Coco is sweeter than chocolate, and is up for adoption with the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria.

“American rabbits are known for being sweet, and Coco lives up to that designation,” AWLA spokesperson Gina Hardter told ALXnow. “That said, her foster caregiver says she can be a bit sassy at times and is comfortable letting her best friends know her real opinions.”

Missing a pet in Alexandria?

Cookie, a three-year-old Border Collie was recently found on N. Payne Street in Old Town, and parakeet Viola was discovered near Sanger Avenue and Derby Court.

It doesn’t cost anything to adopt Jordan. The 13-month-old brown and white spotted male cat is currently up for adoption with the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria.

“Jordan is a goofy cat who loves flopping all over the place to show off his belly when playing,” said AWLA spokesperson Gina Hardter. “He also enjoys rubbing noses with his human foster family.”

Biscotti might be past her kittenish antics, but the 10-year-old black-and-white cat is super sweet and available for adoption via the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria.

“You don’t need to worry about her needing a lot of toys or climbing up your curtains,” AWLA spokesperson Gina Hardter told ALXnow. “She’s far happier hanging out with her human friends and settling in for some chin rubs and ear scratches.”
