Theatre arts is growing in the City of Alexandria! Encore Stage & Studio is proud to bring theatre directly to young students at four Alexandria City Public Schools thanks to support from the City of Alexandria Arts Grants Program and a matching grant from the Revada Foundation. This season, Encore toured bilingual Spanish-English short plays to students at Charles Barrett, Cora Kelly, William Ramsay, and Ferdinand T. Day Elementary Schools.
Students enjoyed A Sidewalk Stroll in the fall, and this week Encore completed the second leg of the tour with a brand-new piece, Rainy Day Rhythms / Ritmos de la Lluvia. These performances introduce young audiences to the magic of live theatre while celebrating storytelling across languages and cultures.
Encore is also excited to offer summer theatre camps in Alexandria where children can explore creativity, performance, and imagination:

Encore camps feature exciting themes inspired by favorite stories, characters, and more. Camps run 10am–4pm (extended hours available). Tuition is $495. Scholarships are available.
Through school tours and summer programs, Encore continues its mission of “Theatre by Kids, for Kids”, ensuring young people have access to joyful, creative arts experiences.
