Thousands will flock to Del Ray this weekend for drinks and live music at the returning Bands & Brews Bar Crawl.
The sixth annual event will take place from 12:30-6 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 15. Hosted by the Del Ray Business Association, the event will provide a portion of proceeds to The Scholarship Fund of Alexandria, which provides scholarships and personalized college advising to students seeking college, career and technical education.
Participating restaurants include Northside 10, Hops N Shine, Los Tios, Spice Kraft, Piece Out Del Ray, Cheesetique, Pork Barrel BBQ, The Del Ray Pop-up Bar, St. Elmos Coffee Pub, Market to Market, Del Ray Public House, Gustave’s Boulangerie, Evening Star Cafe (Hi/Fi Tex-Mex BBQ), Pak Soii Izakaya & Bar, Rosemarino D’Italia, Junction Bakery & Bistro, The Garden Del Ray, Little Birdie, Matt & Tony’s, Bella Napoli and Lena’s Wood-Fired Pizza & Tap.
Ticketholders can visit participating restaurants for cocktail, mocktail and food specials while enjoying DJs, solo performers or group performers at each location. Giveaways, trivia and raffles will be held throughout the event, and a non-alcohol family area with activities and music will be held at Pat Miller Neighborhood Square (Mount Vernon and Oxford Avenues).

- Northside 10 (10 E. Glebe Road) 12:30-3 p.m.
- Hops N Shine (3401 Mt. Vernon Ave) 12:30-3 p.m.
- Lena’s Wood-Fired Pizza & Tap (401 E. Braddock Road) 12:30-3 p.m.
- Pat Miller Square (2312 Mount Vernon Avenue) 3-6 p.m.
Participants can dress as their favorite singers or bands to enter the costume contest with best individual, couple and group prizes. Winners will receive $50, $100 and $150 gift card prizes. Another feature will be three interactive stations, which participants can complete for a chance to win the grand prize raffle. Prizes will be awarded at 5:30 p.m. at Pat Miller Neighborhood Square.
Tickets are $15 for pre-registration and $25 on event day. Ticketholders get access to food and drink specials, live music, trolley transportation, three interactive stations and more activities. The first 250 people to register will receive a swag bag, and Bands & Brews T-shirts and merchandise will be available for purchase at the registration table.
There are still several volunteer slots open for Bands & Brews. Volunteers will get free passes to the event and a T-shirt while supplies last.
