Meet Ares, a large dog with lots of love to give.
This 4-year-old dog at the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria offers a good balance of an energetic and chill nature. Ares enjoys running and playing but won’t want to miss his cuddle time too.
“Ares is going to make a great walking buddy, be it a stroll around the neighborhood or a hike in the woods,” an AWLA volunteer told ALXnow. “As long as he is with his person, Ares is a happy pup!”
Ares, who came to AWLA as a stray, weighs about 60 pounds and has a sleek brown coat with white markings. He will often greet people with tail wags, kisses and putting his big paws in their lap. He can also show off his calm side by gently taking a treat for doing a “sit” trick.
A donor has covered the adoption fees for Ares.
Ares can be visited during the shelter’s regular adoption hours.
