This week in real estate, we have seen an escalation of newly ratified contracts with $644,900 being the median price point. As we move into the fall season, it will be an exciting time to start looking for new homes on the market. Are you interested in buying a home, but don’t know where to start? There are a lot of questions to be answered during the home buying process, but we’re here to help guide you and bring you clarity of mind.

We can help you answer the tough questions such as “Is this a good time to invest?” or “What can I afford?” My first tip would be to start planning. There’s no better time than now to start planning for one of the biggest investments you’ll make. What is your timeline to buy? Do you prefer the city or the suburbs? Being able to have a general guideline to your needs will enable you to see what options are out there for you resulting in more clarity and less stress.

We want you to have access to as many homes as possible before they go on the market. This week, we’re featuring two “Just Listed” homes.

Our first home is a stunning townhome with 2 bedrooms and 1.5 baths in historic Old Town Alexandria. Listed at $734,990, 418 Gibbon Street comes with a newly updated kitchen, custom cabinets, professional-grade appliances and new hardwoods.

Next up is an architectural dream home featuring a sprawling floor plan with 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths. Listed at $899,900 in the heart of Del Ray, this majestic oasis offers more than what could be put into words. If you love entertaining and living in serenity, 2211 Commonwealth Avenue is the home for you.

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
