Escape Room Live to Open An Additional Hour, Close on Mondays

Need to escape? Escape Room Live, on the second floor of 814 King Street in Old Town, wants to give you an extra hour each day to do so.

Last month, the escape room — which is kind of like a live-action game of Clue — filed a special use permit request to be open for an hour longer on weeknights and weekends, and to also close on Mondays for special events.

The Escape Room Live website already has the new hours posted on its website, even though the last day for public comments on the SUP request is March 18, and city approval, which is likely, is pending.

The amended hours are:

  • Monday: Only open for special events
  • Tuesday-Thursday: 5-10 p.m.
  • Friday: 5-11 p.m.
  • Saturday: 12-11 p.m.
  • Sunday: 12-8 p.m.

The business was previously open:

  • Monday-Thursday: 4-9 p.m.
  • Friday: 4-10 p.m.
  • Saturday and Sunday: 12-10 p.m.

Escape Room Live Alexandria is owned by D.C.-based The Ginger Companies, which also owns a Georgetown location. The Alexandria location features four themed rooms: The Wizard’s Apothecary, two Sherlock Holmes rooms and an Edgar Allan Poe room. Online booking is encouraged, and tickets cost $28 per customer.
