Live Alexandria: Meet Pat Moran and the mission behind Tactical Land Care

Picture it… the perfect 70-degree afternoon has arrived. The Washington area humidity hasn’t hit yet, and it’s blue skies above.

You can’t wait to fire up the grill and soak up the great outdoors. Then, BAM! You remember your yard is a swamp, the leaves were never removed from last fall, and the patio has been taken over by prehistoric ground cover. Anyone with a yard knows the pain of poor land design, installation, and maintenance.

Enter Pat Moran and Tactical Land Care.

Pat’s on a mission to make your land all that it should be. “Protect the world by caring for the land” is a directive he takes seriously. TLC won’t just simplify and improve your outdoor life. They’ll maximize the sustainability of the natural resources in your area while giving your property the look you’ve always wanted.

With a class A general contractors license, TLC can install patios, decks, permeable hardscapes, and more.

Visit TLC Design to book your consultation. Don’t wait… it’s already close to 70 degrees and who knows what’s living under that ground cover!

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
