Welcome Back!

Jen Walker here with The Jen Walker Team! We are a real estate group based out of Alexandria, Virginia. I, along with my rock-star team members, Sue Kovalsky,  Micki MacNaughton, and Adrianna Vallario, have more than 35 years of experience in real estate and sold over $175 million in 2021.

Extensively updated 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom Rosemont gem!

This home has been lovingly and meticulously renovated throughout the last six years. The front porch greets you as you walk up to the home, which was built in 1923. Enter into the foyer, which features a mudroom nook and opens to the living room. A wood-burning fireplace anchors the room, and custom built-ins provide for ample storage. This room flows easily into the dining room, which is large enough to accommodate dining for six or more. The kitchen is located just off the dining room and maximizes storage with open wood shelving and spacious cabinetry. The warm wood shelving provides a great contrast to the crisp, white subway tile backsplash and neutral cabinetry.

A screened porch can be accessed through the kitchen and overlooks the fabulous backyard. Head upstairs where you will find three bedrooms and a gorgeously updated full bathroom. Each bedroom has great closet space that is accessed via barn doors. You will also find laundry on this level — a rare find! The lower level features a great recreation room/office/playroom — the world is your oyster! A built-in desk is a great space to work from home or for art projects. The basement was dug-out in 2018 creating a legal bedroom — a full renovated bathroom is located here as well, making the basement an ideal suite for overnight guests.

Outside, the rear yard is not to be missed. In addition to the screened porch, a stone patio is the perfect location for summer BBQs or warming up by the fire-pit on cool evenings. A shed with electricity is so much more than a shed. This space could be transformed into a workshop, and office or a workout room. Walkable to Old Town and Del Ray and located in the Naomi Brooks Elementary school district, 106 E Walnut will wow you at every turn. Welcome home!

Open House: Saturday, February 12 from 2-4 p.m.

Beautifully maintained 2 bedroom, 1.5 bedroom home in the heart of Del Ray! This duplex will wow you from the moment you walk through the door. Enter into the living room, where you will enjoy the wood burning fireplace — a rare find for a Del Ray duplex. The living room flows easily into the dining room. This spacious room can easily accommodate six with leftover space for a hutch or china cabinet. The chair rail in this room ties in seamlessly with the crown molding, also found in the living room.

Adjacent to the dining room is the kitchen. Soft wood cabinetry adds to the light and airy feel of this room, which opens to the rear yard. The backyard is a true oasis. The large deck is the perfect space to host friends for a BBQ or to work from home on warm spring afternoons. With mature plantings and beautiful sod, you will enjoy this private space and feel miles away from city life. There is great, dry storage under the deck for lawn tools and other outdoor items.

Back inside, head upstairs to the two bedrooms. The larger primary suite is light-filled and is large enough to easily fit a king sized bed with plenty of room for dressers and other furniture. This room has access to a walk-up attic, which is completely floored and provides for amazing storage. The second bedroom could double as a home office or guest space. One full bathroom is located on the upper level with a tub/shower combination. Rounding out this home is the lower level, featuring a recreation room with warm wood accents, a bright wainscoting ceiling, a half bath, laundry room and utility area. Use this space as a home office, tv room or even a guest space — with access to the side yard from this room, the world is your oyster!

Located just one block to “The Avenue,” this sunny semi-detached home is walkable to everything. Leave your car and enjoy the Farmer’s Market, shops, restaurants and the Metro. Minutes from Amazon HQ2 and the new Virginia Tech campus, close to Reagan National Airport, and a quick commute to D.C., you will love living in Del Ray! Welcome home!

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
