PHOTOS: Del Ray Halloween Parade marks 30th year

Heroes, villains and all in-between marched to the Alexandria City High School zombie band at Del Ray’s 30th annual Halloween parade on Sunday.

Thousands turned out for what USA Today has dubbed one of the 10 best Halloween parades in the country. The weather was crisp and cool, about 65 degrees and considerably cooler in the shade.

The Del Ray Business Association will be sharing winners of the parade’s contests throughout the week.

Winners of the 2026 Best Decorated Halloween House were also announced at the parade:

🏆People’s Choice Award: 222 E. Custis Avenue
🏆1st Place: 107 Stewart Avenue
🏆2nd Place: 25 W Mt Ida Avenue
🏆3rd Place: 104 W Monroe Avenue
🏆Best Use of A Small Space: 2306 La Grande Avenue

Alexandria’s other signature Halloween experience is coming up this Saturday (Oct. 31) on S. Lee Street in Old Town.
