See ALXnow’s spooky Halloween photos of Lee Street in Old Town

It was a festive Halloween in Old Town, and S. Lee Street was packed with Wicked Witches and Dorothys, superheroes and villains, fairies and giants, and ghouls and goblins.

All of S. Lee Street was shut down for the holiday tradition, with some locals spending thousands of dollars on decorations and candy.

“It’s about the kids, but this year we spent about $2,000 on candy,” resident Matthew Young told ALXnow. “Earlier this year, we visited Hershey Park and fell in love with the chocolate, and that’s what we’re giving away.”

U.S. Sen. Mark Warner (D-VA), who dressed as a scary chef, was also spotted giving candy to trick-or-treaters.
