A women’s bar crawl launched earlier this year is bringing the festivities to Old Town this weekend.
The Old Town Alexandria Women’s Crawl will take place 1-8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24 at six participating restaurants. The Del Ray Psych & Wellness team and its podcast Shrinks On Tap launched the Women’s Crawl earlier this year. The Old Town event is the third stop following its debut in Del Ray during March and its second in Falls Church in May.
All raffle proceeds and 20% of ticket proceeds will benefit Breast Cancer Collective, an Alexandria-based nonprofit serving the D.C. area and beyond that supports breast cancer prevention and care.
“We wanted to bring the event to Old Town to create another meaningful experience for women while also driving foot traffic and supporting local restaurants and wellness businesses,” Lauren Fisher of Del Ray Psych & Wellness told ALXnow. “And since it’s October, we’re especially excited to use this opportunity to raise funds and awareness for The Breast Cancer Collective in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.”
Participants are encouraged to dress in pink and join the crawl for interactive wellness experiences, food and drink specials, giveaways, a photo station, a grand prize raffle, and an After Glow Dance Party. The first 100 registered attendees will receive a swag bag filled with items from local businesses and sponsors.
A welcome toast will be held at Vola’s Dockside Grill & Hi-Tide Lounge at 1:30 p.m., and other participating restaurants include Daniel O’Connell’s Irish Restaurant & Bar (112 King Street), Fish Market Restaurant (105 King Street), Urbano 116 (116 King Street) and Chadwicks (203 The Strand). The evening will culminate with a dance party from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at Cooper Mill (10 Duke Street).
Tickets start at $22 for the crawl and $15 for the After Glow Dance Party. Food, drinks, raffle tickets and merchandise can be purchased separately.
