A new sticker crawl will join the spooky season festivities this month in Old Town and throughout the city.
Old Town retailer Penny Post is hosting the first-ever Sticker Treat, a Halloween sticker crawl, from Friday, Oct. 16 to Sunday, Oct. 18. Ticketed participants at Penny Post (1201 King Street) will receive a reusable sticker book and treat map designed by local design studio No Plan. Using the map, they can locate where to find stickers and show the sticker book at each participating business to gain a sticker.
“Stickers have become a cultural phenomenon and a favorite means of self-expression, so naturally, Penny Post is pairing them with another beloved obsession: Halloween,” the business said in a release.
The event is geared toward “tweens” and adults. The event runs 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 12-4 p.m. Sunday, but hours at individual businesses will vary. Tickets are $20 each plus fees.

The following weekend will bring two early trick-or-treat events. Pippin Toy Co. will host Old Town Trick-or-Treat on Oct. 24, followed by The Dog Park’s Old Town Doggie Trick-or-Treat on Oct. 25.
A number of Old Town’s independent boutiques are signed on to participate in Old Town Trick-or-Treat. The treat hunt begins by picking up a map at Pippin Toy Co. (1310 King Street). There will also be drink specials offered at Mudhouse Coffee, as well as children’s activations at The Spice and Tea Exchange, Lowery’s Dial and Lee-Fendall House Museum and Garden.
At The Dog Park (705 King Street), the returning Old Town Doggie Trick-or-Treat encourages pets and their humans to come in costume. Participants will pick up a map and goody bag at The Dog Park.
“Old Town has become synonymous with Halloween and we are thrilled to continue that tradition,” said Amy Rutherford, owner of Penny Post, Pippin Toy Co. and Red Barn Mercantile. “This year we are excited to offer spooky fun for all ages — and creatures — with three Old Town signature events. We can’t wait to see you all in your scariest (and silliest) regalia.”
