The Animal Welfare League of Alexandria is hoping to find a landing place for its longest-stay pet.
According to AWLA, 5-year-old Bruno is an easygoing dog weighing about 46 pounds with a white and brown coat. He can be a shy guy at first when meeting new people and will warm up to them slowly before revealing his gentle nature.
“We internally joke that he has a little bit of RBF (resting Bruno face), and often people think he doesn’t look like a very happy dog,” an AWLA spokesperson said. “However, nothing could be further from the truth.”
Bruno loves nothing more than a stroll around the neighborhood, chewing on a good bone and getting out the zoomies in the backyard. He does well with children and would thrive as the only dog in the house.
Bruno is house trained, and foster families say he does well with his crate training when left alone as well as traveling in a car. Bruno’s adoption fees have been covered by a sponsor.

The shelter’s regular adoption hours are:
- Noon to 7 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday
- Noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday
