Adoptable pet of the week: Golden girl Charlotte will be your chill sidekick

If you’re in need of a mellow office assistant at your home, look no further than Charlotte.

Meet Charlotte, a 10-year-old golden girl who will be a reliable companion for strolls around the block or time lounging at home. According to an AWLA volunteer, the senior’s ideal day is moving from her dog bed to the couch and back with her human at her side.

“Charlotte might like a little wander in the yard or an amble to the coffee shop where she can socialize with her fan club,” the AWLA volunteer told ALXnow. “She loves interacting with people and friendly dogs.”

For families with furry companions already, Charlotte is more than happy to be a big sister to a younger dog or have another senior buddy. At 10 years old, she is hoping to find her forever home soon.

“This 71-pound chocolate lady will sweeten your days and help you to slow down and sniff the flowers,” the AWLA volunteer said.

Interested adopters can contact AWLA and visit Charlotte during the shelter’s regular adoption hours:

  • Noon to 7 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday
  • Noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday
