Adoptable pet of the week: Petite Ginger seeks a quiet home

Meet Ginger, a petite pup seeking a quiet home to land in.

This gentle dog at the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria needs a patient family who will move at her pace until she gets comfortable. She enjoys snuggling up once she feels safe with her person, an AWLA volunteer told ALXnow.

“Ginger has a gentle spirit and a whole lot of love to give to the right family,” the volunteer said. “She gets along with calm, understanding humans who move at a gentle pace.”

Ginger is just past 1 year old and weighs about 18 pounds. She is currently in a foster home and prefers an environment that isn’t loud.

“Ginger may take a little time to warm up, but once she does, you’ll have a sweet companion by your side!” the volunteer said.

Ginger can be visited during the shelter’s regular adoption hours:

  • Noon to 7 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday
  • Noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday
