Thai Peppers to close after more than 27 years in Del Ray

Thai Peppers Restaurant will say farewell to Del Ray after more than 27 years.

The restaurant, located at 2018 Mount Vernon Avenue and dating back to 1998, announced it will have its final day of business on Monday, June 15. The owners cited their plans to retire and “hopefully relax on a beach in Phuket sipping Singhas and Mai Tais.”

The owners thanked customers for their support over the years for countless family dinners, celebrations, dates and more memories.

“Thank you for keeping us going, Thank you for welcoming us into this community and allowing us to be part of your lives for over two decades,” the Thai Peppers owners said in a social media post. “Del Ray has been a huge part of our family’s legacy and without YOU there wouldn’t be Thai Peppers. We’ll always be grateful for the memories we have made together.”

Although the Del Ray location is closing, the other two locations in Bristow and Haymarket will remain open. Those restaurants will be passed down to the next generations but remain in the family and keep the same recipes.

Hours at the Del Ray location are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 5-9 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, 12-9 p.m. Saturday and 5-9 p.m. Sunday.
