Adoptable pet of the week: Former stray Slim seeks home of her own

Meet Slim, whose love for her human companion is anything but slim.

Slim came to the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria animal shelter as a stray and wants to find a home to call her own, an AWLA volunteer told ALXnow. The pup has a soft tan coat and golden eyes, and she weighs 36 pounds.

The 1-year-and-4-month-old dog would love to go on runs and will keep her family entertained with her antics.

“When playtime is over, Slim turns into a little cuddle bug,” the AWLA volunteer said. “If you are looking for a little buddy who has a zest for life and a love of people, you really can’t go wrong with Slim!”

Slim can be visited during the shelter’s regular adoption hours:

  • Noon to 7 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday
    Noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday
