Several regional breweries will come together later this month for the annual ALX Craft Beer Festival, offering a taste of their signature brews.
The festival will feature a variety of ale, lager, pilsner and other beers from local makers, including host Atlas Brew Works. The festival is scheduled from 1-5 p.m. Saturday, May 16, at the Atlas Alexandria Brewery & Tap Room at 2429 Mandeville Lane.
“Sample a variety of unique brews from all over NoVa and DC,” an event description reads. “Whether you’re a beer enthusiast or just looking for a fun time, this event is perfect for everyone.”
This year, Atlas Brew Works plans to pour its Atlantico Mexican Lager and 2026 Bullpen Pilsner, which recently won gold at this year’s World Beer Cup after competing against 79 other American-style pilsner entries.
Alexandria-based Port City Brewing Company will also be in attendance, offering pours of its Chela Mexican Lager and Essential Haze Hazy IPA. The fest will feature a couple non-beer libations as well, including bourbon and rye samples from Reston’s Open Road Distilling Co.
Tickets are available on Eventbrite, starting at $34 for four 5-ounce samples, or $50 for eight 5-ounce samples, with additional samples available for purchase on-site. Admission comes with a commemorative glass. Attendees can also select ticket add-ons for two slices of Andy’s Pizza or to pre-tip the event staff.
The festival is open to guests age 21 and older; those under 21 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Discounted parking will be validated on-site.
