Meet Truffles, a young dog who could use a confidence boost from her new family.
This 11-month-old dog came to the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria as a frightened stray and is doing better in a foster home, an AWLA volunteer told ALXnow. She has lived with a dog and cat in her foster home and would do well with another dog in her adopter’s home.
“She is still a little shy around new people, but a soft voice and a gentle touch go a long way,” the volunteer wrote. “As long as you let Truffles get to know you at her own pace, we will be your best friend before you know it.”
Truffles is crate trained and is working on improving her house training. Her new family would ideally continue training and building her confidence.
“So if you are looking for a sweet, medium-sized dog who just needs a little extra TLC, Truffles may just be the one for you,” the volunteer said.
Truffles can be visited during the shelter’s regular adoption hours.
