Alexandria restaurants named semifinalists for regional RAMMY Awards

Several Alexandria restaurants are in the running for the Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington’s restaurant awards.

The association named 190 semifinalists for the RAMMYs, given annually to members of the D.C. region’s restaurant industry. This was the first time semifinalists were publicly announced in the four decades of the awards, providing an early glimpse at which chefs, restaurants and hospitality staff are in the running.

“Introducing Semi-Finalists allows us to expand the circle of recognition of chefs, restaurateurs and hospitality professionals who are pushing the industry forward and making Washington one of the most exciting food cities in the country,” said Shawn Townsend, the president and CEO of RAMW.

Alexandria semifinalists include:

  • Manager of the Year: Todd Hunt, Oak Steakhouse Alexandria
  • Manager of the Year: Juan Ramirez, Bastille Brasserie & Bar
  • Fast Casual Restaurant of the Year: Andy’s Pizza
  • Fast Casual Restaurant of the Year: Call Your Mother
  • Best Brunch of the Year: Matt & Tony’s

Finalists for the RAMMYs will be revealed on April 6. Winners will be announced at the RAMMYs Awards & Gala on June 29 at the Wharf D.C.’s Arena Stage at The Mead Center for American Theater.
