Ulta Beauty ‘opening soon’ in Potomac Yard Center

The largest beauty retailer in the world is coming to Potomac Yard this spring.

After months of construction, “opening soon” signs have been erected for Ulta Beauty at 3501 Richmond Highway in the Potomac Yard Center. That’s the former home of Dressbarn, which closed in 2019, along with hundreds of other Dressbarn locations around the country.

The 9,700-square-foot space was vacant for six years, and was briefly a preview center for Arlington-based Club Fitness from October 2024 to February 2025.

The Washington Business Journal was the first outlet to report Ulta’s move to Potomac Yard, and confirmed that the chain will open in the spring.

Ulta, which has 1,500 stores around the country, will be just a few doors down from Target (3101 Richmond Highway).

Earlier this year, Target and Ulta announced an end to their partnership, and that Ulta products will no longer be sold at Target locations after August 2026. By that time, the Ulta store at Potomac Yard will have been open for several months.
