Alexandria will close lane to repair sewer pipe in Old Town North next week

Alexandria will conduct a sewer pipe repair project next week, temporarily shutting down an Old Town North roadway from Monday, Dec. 8 to Thursday, Dec. 11.

One northbound road lane will be shut down near 1201 E. Abingdon Drive to repair an 18-inch combined sewer pipe, according to the city.

“The work will take place in the grassy area between E. Abingdon Dr. and the George Washington Memorial Parkway, and the temporary lane closure is required for loading and unloading construction materials,” the city said in a release.

Any questions related to the project can be sent to civil engineer Daniel Sori at [email protected] or 703-746-4086.
