Alexandria City High School defeated James W. Robinson Secondary School 14-10 in a homecoming game Friday night, Oct. 24.
The victory improved Alexandria City’s record to 6-2 overall and 3-2 in Conference 4 play. The Titans are tied atop the district standings with Lake Braddock and West Springfield, both also 6-2 overall. West Springfield leads the conference at 5-0.
Robinson fell to 2-6 overall and 0-5 in conference play with the loss.
Season Recap
The Titans opened their season with a 32-0 forfeit victory over Lake Braddock on Aug. 28, followed by wins against Potomac Senior (42-6) and Crossland (42-8). Alexandria City also defeated John R. Lewis 71-0 on Sept. 19 and edged Woodson 23-21 on Sept. 26.
The Titans’ two losses came against West Potomac (21-20) and Fairfax (14-7). Alexandria City has scored 219 points on the season while allowing 112, according to VHSL standings.
Looking Ahead
The Titans close out the regular season with a home game against West Springfield on Oct. 31, followed by a road game at South County on Nov. 7.
West Springfield defeated Fairfax 49-16 on Friday and holds a 6-2 overall record. South County (5-3, 4-1) defeated Lake Braddock 23-22.
