Meet Biscoff, this week’s adoptable dog looking for an active Alexandria family

Biscoff is living up to his cookie-inspired name — he’s sweet, he’s a crowd-pleaser, and he’s impossible not to love.

The 3-year-old large breed dog at the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria (AWLA) is eager to find a home where he can enjoy all the best parts of fall in Alexandria, from crunching through leaf piles to going on long neighborhood walks.

The handsome black-and-white pup weighs in at 57 pounds and has what his caretakers describe as “a big heart and an even bigger smile.”

“I love meeting new people and making friends, and I’m always ready for an adventure,” according to Biscoff’s AWLA profile.

And yes, the way to this boy’s heart is definitely through his stomach. Biscoff is highly treat-motivated, which his caretakers say makes him an excellent candidate for learning new commands and tricks. The shelter describes him as smart and eager to learn — especially when snacks are involved.

After treat time, Biscoff would love nothing more than to burn off that energy with a good romp in a yard or a nice walk around town. He’s looking for an active family that enjoys having fun on the go — someone who can match his enthusiasm for adventure and play and keep his life “full of joy.”

With his loyalty, enthusiasm, and that trademark goofy grin, Biscoff is sure to charm his lucky new family for years to come.

Even better news? Thanks to a generous donor, Biscoff’s adoption fees have already been paid.
