The Alexandria Chamber of Commerce announced finalists Wednesday for its 2025 Best in Business Awards, describing the Oct. 23 ceremony as “our very own version of the Oscars.”
The awards will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Westin Alexandria Old Town, 400 Courthouse Square, with Burke & Herbert Bank presenting the event. The ceremony begins at 6:30 p.m., followed by a reception at 7:30 p.m.
Virginia Tech DC Area Launch Team was selected as the 2025 Business Leader of the Year, marking only the third time in the chamber’s history that a team has received the honor. The chamber cited the team’s work opening Academic Building One in Alexandria’s Potomac Yard and its impact on education and regional growth.
Thirty-four local companies are competing across seven categories, with finalists selected through what the chamber describes as rigorous judging and high standards.
Micro business finalists are Aptivate Educational & Psychological Solutions, Convene Architecture, Cualtzin Salon, Fitness Together Alexandria, Kelayi Chiropractic & Wellness Boutique, and Wine Gallery 108.
Small business finalists include Alphagraphics of Alexandria, COMA LLC dba Sculp’d, Educational Connections, Family First Law Group, PLLC, Remedy Speech Therapy, and Revolve Solutions, LLC.
Medium business finalists are Alexandria Children’s Dentistry, Daniel O’Connell’s Irish Bar & Restaurant, Friedman, Grimes, Meinken & Leischner, PLLC, Josephine, ServiceMaster NCR, and Veterinary Emergency Group.
Large business finalists include Alexandria Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center, AT&T, CommonWealth One Federal Credit Union, and Hotel AKA Alexandria.
Rising star business finalists are Athena Wellness and Physical Therapy, CatRad Creative, Cornerstone Craftsman, Inc., Dental Inc., Hypergoat Coffee Roasters & Café, and MULU Corp.
Nonprofit and association finalists include Alexandria Soccer Association, Alexandria Symphony Orchestra, Community Lodgings, Junior League of Northern Virginia, Move2Learn, Scholarship Fund of Alexandria and Senior Services of Alexandria.
The chamber will also present an Overall Business of the Year award to one of the category winners.
