The Oswald Durant Center (1605 Cameron Street) in Old Town will be closed from Sunday, Aug. 31, until Friday, Sept. 5, to undergo annual maintenance and cleaning.

“This brief closure ensures that our facility remains safe, clean, and welcoming for all who use it. During this time, no programs, rentals, or public access will be available,” the city said in a statement. “We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we complete this essential upkeep.”

The Durant Center is home to a children’s play space that’s usually open from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. throughout the week. It is also home to four multi-purpose rooms, a grand multipurpose room with a stage, a kitchen, a gallery, and a patio.

The cleaning is expected to wrap up on September 4, and the center will reopen the following day, according to the city.
