Alexandria Mayor Alyia Gaskins will sit down with ALXnow next Tuesday for her regular monthly conversation with the community, offering residents a direct line to city leadership as the City Council prepares to resume meetings after its August recess.
The live virtual discussion, scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 2, at 11 a.m., provides a platform for community members to get answers about pressing city issues and municipal priorities. The 30-minute session will be hosted by ALXnow Publisher Ryan Belmore.
“Our ‘Ask The Mayor’ series provides Alexandria residents with regular opportunities to hear directly from Mayor Gaskins on pressing city issues,” according to ALXnow’s announcement of the session.
Community members can submit questions in advance through a Google form available below, or pose questions in real-time through comments on the live broadcast. The discussion format encourages direct community engagement on topics affecting Alexandria residents.
The timing of next Tuesday’s session is particularly relevant, coming as the City Council prepares to ramp back up after taking August off from meetings. This makes it an ideal opportunity for residents to hear about upcoming agenda items and city priorities as municipal business resumes.
