Missing Alexandria man prompts police search, helicopter assistance

Alexandria police launched a search early Friday morning for a 27-year-old man reported as a critical missing person.

Charles Davon Finley was last seen walking east on the north side of the 300 block of Wythe Street, according to the Alexandria Police Department. Officers described Finley as 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing 160 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

The police department issued a missing person alert on social media at 3:12 a.m. Friday, requesting immediate assistance from the public.

“Officers are currently searching for this critical missing man,” the department stated in its social media post. “Fairfax One is in the air assisting at this hour.”

Fairfax One, the Fairfax County Police helicopter, was deployed to aid in the search efforts during the early morning hours.

Police urged anyone with information about Finley’s whereabouts to call 911 immediately. Those with non-emergency tips can contact the Alexandria Police Department at 703-746-4444.

The department has not released additional details about the circumstances surrounding Finley’s disappearance or why the case is classified as critical.
