Alexandria firefighters responded to an apartment fire Thursday evening in the 5400 block of Sheffield Court, according to Alexandria Firefighters Inc. IAFF Local 2141.
Engine and Truck 208 arrived first on scene and found smoke showing from a terrace-level apartment. Crews located a fire in the living room and successfully extinguished the blaze.
Fire marshals are investigating to determine the cause of the fire.
Multiple units responded to the incident, including Engines 208, 206, 422, 210 and 410; Truck 208; Tower 203; Rescues 209 and 408; Medic 207; and command staff units.
The Facebook post was made at 7:56 p.m. Thursday by the firefighters’ union local. No information was provided about injuries or the extent of damage to the apartment.
