The Alexandria Aces advanced to the Cal Ripken Sr. Collegiate Baseball League championship series for the fourth time in five years after sweeping the Olney Cropdusters in the semifinals.
The best-of-three championship series against top-seeded Bethesda Big Train begins tonight at 7 p.m. at Shirley Povich Field in Bethesda, Md. Game 2 is Monday at 6:30 p.m. at Frank Mann Field in Alexandria, with a potential Game 3 Tuesday back in Bethesda if necessary.
The Aces finished the regular season 23-13 and are seeking their second league title after winning in 2022. Bethesda posted the league’s best regular-season record at 27-9.
“This team has fought hard all season, and now we have a chance to win it all — right here in Alexandria,” said Aces President Frank Fannon. “We need our fans to pack Frank Mann Field and give us that home field advantage.”
Tickets for Monday’s home game are $7 for adults and $3 for children younger than 12, available at the gate or online at www.alexandriaaces.org. Concessions will include burgers and hot dogs.
