Dr. Kim Holien, Retired U.S. Army Historian (via City of Alexandria)

A military history expert is giving a lecture tonight (June 5) on the hidden aspects of D-Day operations at the Alexandria History Museum at The Lyceum (201 S. Washington St).

Dr. Kim Holien, a former U.S. Army historian, will present “Eisenhower’s Top Secrets from D-Day to V-E Day” as part of Alexandria’s annual D-Day anniversary events.

The City of Alexandria says the talk will cover “the operations of T Force and how it worked behind the scenes under Eisenhower’s direct control through the war’s end.”

Holien’s presentation digs into lesser-known intelligence operations, including ‘T Force,’ which worked secretly under General Eisenhower from the Normandy landings until Victory in Europe Day.

The event description promises insights into “the Last Great Secret of the War in Europe and how much of it is still under wraps today.”

The lecture runs from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tickets cost $15 for general admission and $12 for Historic Alexandria members. You can buy them online at AlexandriaVA.gov/Shop.
