Alexandria is set to host Al Ain FC from the United Arab Emirates as an official Team Base Camp for the FIFA Club World Cup 2025™.
According to the FIFA announcement on Tuesday, Al Ain FC will base itself in Alexandria during the group stage, lodging in Alexandria and using Episcopal High School as their training hub. The team is scheduled to play two matches at Audi Field in Washington, D.C., this month.
“Alexandria is proud to be a part of this global tournament and to host Al Ain FC in our community,” said Mayor Alyia Gaskins. “This opportunity reflects the strength of our city as a great place to live, work, visit and play.”
This summer, the United States hosts its first-ever FIFA Club World Cup™, bringing together 32 top clubs from around the world. Audi Field in D.C. will see matches on June 18, 22, and 26, 2025.
