Alexandria calls off Community Cookout at Mason at Van Dorn due to weather

For the third consecutive week, the City of Alexandria’s Department of Recreation, Parks, and Cultural Activities has been forced to cancel a community cookout due to inclement weather.

The city announced on Wednesday (May 28) that their next cookout, scheduled for Thursday (May 29) at Mason at Van Dorn (140 South Van Dorn Street) has been cancelled.

Due to inclement weather, The Department of Recreation, Parks, and Cultural Activities has cancelled the next stop on our 18th Annual Community Cookout Series. Please make sure you come to next week’s cookout at Southern Towers at 6 p.m. for an opportunity to connect with neighbors, enjoy free food, games, activities, and giveaways, and learn more about the wide range of services and programs offered by City agencies.
