The Alexandria Democratic Committee is gearing up for its annual “Rock the Blue Dinner” on Thursday (May 22).
Rep. Linda Sanchez from Southern California’s 38th congressional district will give the keynote speech at the event, which will be held at the Torpedo Factory Art Center.
The committee is excited about her participation, sharing, “Rep. Sanchez represents Southern California’s 38th congressional district. Elected in 2002, she’s the first Latina to serve on the House and Means and is Co-Chair of the Labor Caucus. She’s the sixth of seven children to immigrants from Mexico (fun fact: her sister Loretta also served in the House from 1997 to 2017). She’s a steadfast advocate for working people and is a fierce protector of Social Security and Medicare”.
The festivities kick off at 6 p.m. and run until 10:30 p.m., promising an evening of “dinner, drinks, and dancing under the twinkling lights of the Torpedo Factory Art Center.” Guests are encouraged to show their party spirit by wearing blue.
Ticket prices range from $115 (Young Democrats Pricing) to $2,500 (True Blue Sponsorship). With limited seating available, the committee expects tickets to go fast. Each ticket includes dinner, beer, wine, and a signature cocktail. For tickets and additional information, visit the Alexandria Democratic Committee’s website at https://www.alexdems.org/rtb/.
This annual fundraiser has a history of attracting notable speakers. In 2024, Florida Congressman Maxwell Frost took the stage, while Maryland Congressman Jamie Raskin addressed the crowd in 2023.
