The ALXnow Press Club, which kicked off in March, is seeing a surge in membership and offering more ways for people to get involved.
Nearly 100 founding members have already joined, allowing Alexandria residents to back independent journalism while getting special perks and content.
“Bringing you quality local news is a team effort,” says Ryan Belmore, ALXnow’s Publisher. “It takes our dedicated staff at ALXnow and loyal readers working together to make it happen.”
The Press Club offers a range of benefits to help members “save time, learn more, and support local independent news.”
These perks include a hand-curated Morning Briefing newsletter, alerts for breaking news, exclusive content like monthly roundups of restaurant deals, and the chance to join a virtual feedback session with the publisher.
Belmore is excited about the response: “Having almost 100 people sign up so quickly shows that our readers value in-depth local reporting and want to feel more connected to their community and our news process.”
The new Virtual Feedback & Ideas Hour allows members to talk directly with Belmore, share story ideas, give feedback, and discuss community issues.
Belmore encourages readers who value ALXnow’s work to consider joining the Press Club. “With your support, we can keep growing and improving our community coverage—giving you the news and information you want and need.”
