Alexandria’s Eco-City Festival will be held on Saturday, May 10, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Ben Brenman Park. This free event is perfect for families and aims to boost sustainability awareness in a fun, engaging way.
With over 50 booths, the festival offers a mix of games, crafts, and info from city departments, non-profits, and community groups. It’s a great chance to learn about sustainability while having a good time.
Visitors can test drive electric vehicles, e-bikes, and scooters at the EV Ride and Drive area or check out the latest models at the EV Showcase. There will be a rock wall and an inflatable obstacle course for the adventurous. Between 10 a.m. and noon, animal lovers can meet adoptable pets from the Animal Welfare League.
The Local Business Village showcases sustainable products and practices from area companies. When you’re hungry, grab a bite from the food trucks or nearby restaurants.
Getting to the festival is easy and eco-friendly. DASH is offering free rides, and there’s a free bike valet service for cyclists.
