Public input sought on proposed improvements to John Ewald Park

The City of Alexandria is seeking residents’ thoughts on planned upgrades to John Ewald Park, a nearly 4-acre green space located on the West End at 4452 Duke Street.

“The feedback collected will further inform the final Park Improvement Plan recommendations, scheduled for public hearing at the June 26 Park and Recreation Commission meeting,” the City says in a press release.

The park currently features a lighted basketball court, a playground, a parking lot, and an open grassy area. Park improvement recommendations were established in 2015, following the completion of a park planning process for each of the City’s 19 Neighborhood Parks.

From April 21 to May 21, you can share your ideas through an online survey. Written comments may be sent to Judy Lo, [email protected] or City of Alexandria, Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities, Attn: Ewald Park Improvements, 1108 Jefferson Street, Alexandria, VA 22314.
