Life Alive Organic Cafe is coming to Old Town Alexandria. It plans to open at 400 King Street this winter.
This health-focused eatery will be part of a building that is home to the Alexandrian Hotel and that is undergoing major renovations this year.
Life Alive brands itself as “a beacon for positive eating,” offering a menu crafted by chefs that includes grain bowls, salads, noodles, soups, cold-pressed juices, smoothies, açaí bowls, and espresso drinks. They pride themselves on using organic ingredients and preparing everything from scratch.
The Old Town location will be 3,250 square feet and include seventy indoor seats and thirty patio seats. The cafes typically feature unique art, cozy spots to sit, plenty of outlets, and free Wi-Fi.

Life Alive opened a cafe in the West End of Washington, D.C., in January. It will open in the Ballston neighborhood of Arlington (818 N. Quincy St.) in September 2025, before opening in Old Town this winter.
