The City of Alexandria is asking residents to share their thoughts on improving the Schuyler Hamilton Jones Skatepark, the city’s only skateboarding spot.
The Department of Recreation, Parks & Cultural Activities has set up two events this month to hear what the community wants:
– A Zoom meeting on Thursday, March 27, at 7 p.m. Registration is necessary.
– An in-person pop-up event at the skatepark on Saturday, March 29, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
As far as what you can expect at the pop-up event, the city shares the following;

Community Engagement: Your voice is impactful! Participate in interactive discussions and share your ideas on upcoming improvements.

Snacks: Enjoy complimentary snacks throughout the event while you connect with your community and share ideas.
The skatepark, located at 3540 Wheeler Ave., is getting a makeover. The city wants to improve it by listening to what people actually want and need.
